I created this poster as part of the "When You Think Of Home" project, which asked artists to create a poster that references what they think of when they think of home. The proceeds from the project go to support Acres of Love, a non-profit doing amazing work in South Africa finding homes for orphans.
I've lived in several different places but the years I spent in Manhattan were the most meaningful to me. It was the first place I had a sense of agency over my life. I started my career, built a business, met and married my wife, and had my first child there. It's chaotic, overwhelming and gritty, but I loved it. I was not born there, but it's definitely what I think of when I think of home.
I was very pleased to win a Graphis poster design award for this project and have it featured in the Graphis poster design 2020 annual.
