MIDNIGHT SHOWING BOOK JACKET
Disney Hyperion Publishing hired me to design the book jacket for Midnight Showing, the sequel to Malice House, an adult horror novel by best-selling YA author Megan Shepherd. They initially requested film-noir style dimensional typography, so I created this artwork.

They also wanted to see some alternate typography that maintained the color palette of the first book in the series, and would potentially also draw influence from paperback horror novels of the 70s and 80s which are heavily influential in this book.

None of the designs were approved by the author, so I took a different approach. I reviewed her YA work and drew the art shown below, which includes many of the characters and key plot elements referenced in it.
